Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India vide their letter F.No.44(1)/2015-1483, dtd. 18.02.2016 sanctioned an amount of Rs.539.79 Crore for Assam (for KAAC=94.11 Crore, NCHAC=24.66 Crore, BTC=421.02 Crore) as One Time Central Assistance to the areas covered under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution of India for the year 2015-16.
The grants provided are intended to be used to support and strengthen the delivery of basic civic services including water supply, sanitation including septic management, sewage and solid waste management, storm water drainage, maintenance of community assets, maintenance of roads, footpaths, street-lighting, burial and cremation grounds and the subjects as assigned by the concerned State Governments through legislation as per the Guidelines issued by the NITI Aayog, Government of India.
Rs.94.11 Crore is released to Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council in two installment vide letter No.FEA(SFC).63/2016/162, dtd 03.12.2016 and No.FEA(SFC).63/2016/178, dtd 19.01.2017 by the Finance (Economic Affairs) Department during 2016-17.
Rs.24.66 Crore is released to North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council in two installment vide letter No.FEA(SFC).63/2016/160, dtd 03.12.2016 and No.FEA(SFC).63/2016/180, dtd 19.01.2017 by the Finance (Economic Affairs) Department during 2016-17.
